Rose Lake Ontario Canada
This is a place I like to go once or twice a year. Rose Lake is in Muskoka, Ontario, about 2 hours from Toronto. There are only 4 cottages on the entire lake. The cabin I stay in has only solar power lights and a camping stove, and signal is intermittent -- or non-existent. From here, I've heard wolves howling in the night, seen bull moose, and black bears. Fishing is good; you can catch large pike and bass too. It's a great place to read a book and just clear your head. Sometimes I go in the middle of winter, and we snowshoe in. In half an hour, after the fire is started, the cabin is nice and warm.
